Monthly Dressmaking & Pattern Cutting Groups

You are very welcome to the monthly workshop groups whether you are a complete beginner who wants to learn to make your own clothes or you have skills you would like to refresh, extend and explore.

All aspects of dressmaking can be covered during the session;  using commercial patterns, getting the most from your sewing machine or overlocker, construction techniques and how to make garments that actually fit and are professionally finished.

You can also make basic skirt, trousers and bodice blocks using your own body measurements and learn how to adapt these to make your own stylish well fitting patterns.

I usually lead a short session looking at specific dressmaking construction or pattern adaptation techniques.

Groups are usually kept to a maximum of 7 so you and I get the most from them.  Weekday and Saturday daytime, evening and half day sessions are available.  Come along, make new friends and enjoy time for you with like minded sewing fans!

Cost:  £35.00 per full day session £20 for evening and half day sessions (payable in advance) + materials

Payment by cheque, bank transfer or PayPay.

Equipment:  Sewing kit, patterns and materials for your project, sewing machine (optional).

I do have sewing machines and overlockers and lots of other equipment for use during the session if you don't have any or it is difficult for you to bring it to the venue.  I am able to supply basic haberdashery and some fabrics at discounted cost.
